Muir Woods: An Insider’s Tour

Please join us on November 5 for a walk through Muir Woods National Monument for an insider’s update on projects to enhance salmon habitat, improve visitor access, and manage traffic and parking challenges.

Current and former managers from the National Park Service and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy will discuss the status of Redwood Renewal, a comprehensive set of plans to protect resources while enhancing visitor amenities and experience. These projects aim to improve management of this old-growth redwood forest, which attracts about 1 million visitors annually. The discussion will explore overlapping management needs related to salmon habitat in Redwood Creek, trails, traffic, fire, cultural resources, and visitor experience.
