Conservation Easements – An Effective Tool

Zach Mendes, Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT) and Bill Long, Marin Open Space Land Trust (MOST) will be our guest speakers.  Zach and Bill will educate us on how easements are used and applied by MALT and MOST for conservation purposes.

Zach Mendes is the Director of Land Protection for MALT serving in this role since 2014. Zach is responsible for all aspects of ongoing and new land protection efforts, including compliance of MALT’s agricultural conservation easements.

Bill Long is a retired engineer and serves as the Board of Directors Chair for MOST. Bill is well known for his volunteer work and public service throughout Marin County. He was involved in the creation of the Marin Parks and Open Space District and served 10 years as a commissioner for this District.
