Sustainable Transportation: Updates to Public Transit in Marin

Cathleen Sullivan, Director of Planning for Marin Transit, will present exciting updates for local public transit including MASCOTS, a multi-operator service reconfiguration effort along the Highway 101 corridor in Marin and Sonoma Counties, upcoming changes to the Clipper fare payment system, and Marin Transit’s ongoing transition to electric buses and charging infrastructure.
Alto Tunnel: The proposal to reopen the tunnel for North-South Greenway connection

Warren Wells, MCBC’s Policy and Planning Director, will share the history of advocacy for reconstructing Alto Tunnel, the prospective environmental benefits, and the potential next steps to the project. If rehabilitated for active travel for bicycles and pedestrians, the tunnel would create a seamless connection between miles of multi-use pathway and allow travel between central and southern Marin without having to ride over the “20-story ridge” that riders contend with today.
