Join us on April 15 for updates from local climate groups, along with policy decisions shaping Marin.

Kathren Murrell Stevenson, Executive Director of Resilient Neighborhoods, will share how Marin households are reducing emissions and strengthening disaster resilience through Resilient Neighborhoods programs, along with practical ways residents can take action locally.

Kathren joined the Resilient Neighborhoods team in 2023. She has a background in education, ecology, and nonprofit management. As a field ecologist, Kathren researched climate change in the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains. She served as Restoration Director for Friends of Sausal Creek, taught graduate and undergraduate courses in ecology and the environmental humanities, and has led severalnonprofits. Kathren earned her PhD in Plant Ecology from UC Davis.

David Moller will report on the Marin Electrification Council and its current focus areas:  timely implementation of the Bay Area Air District’s Zero NOx Rule 9-6 for hot water heaters, including a Call to Action for the District’s May 6th Board meeting, and outreach to developers and property managers to encourage all-electric projects with enhanced EV and E-bike charging.

Policy updates:

  • A recent CPUC report on the TECH Clean Program and its role in accelerating the transition to heat pumps
  • The California Court of Appeal’s decision upholding NEM 3.0
  • Recent MCL advocacy with MCE

We will have reports from Cool the Earth, Sustainable San Rafael, 350 Bay Area, and the Marin Biomass Project, as well as details about the April 26, 2026 Earth Day program in Mill Valley.
