SUMMARY:Preparing Marin for a “Super El Niño”
DESCRIPTION:In lieu of this month’s CAWG meeting\, please join us on Sept. 30\, when climate scientist Dr. Daniel Swain will discuss what a potentially powerful El Niño could mean for Marin\, including heavy rainfall\, inland flooding\, and prolonged coastal and bayside flooding. Elevated local sea levels could compound long-term trends and push water above historic levels along key transportation corridors\, including Highways 101 and 37. The presentation will be followed by a panel of local specialists moderated by MCCMC Chair Gabe Paulson\, along with an audience Q&A. \nWednesday\, Sept. 30\, 6–7:30 p.m. \nCenter for Student Success\, College of Marin\, Kentfield Campus \nHosted by the Marin County Council of Mayors & Councilmembers (MCCMC) and co-hosted by Marin Conservation League\, ESP and Marin Wildfire. \nThe event will be hybrid.
