West Point Inn - since 1904

1000 Panoramic Highway, Mill Valley, CA 94941

415.388.9955, 415.646.0702 (reservations)

Secluded among the trees on the upper south slope of Mt. Tamalpais, the West Point Inn was once a stopover for passengers who rode the "Crookedest Railroad in the World" up from Mill Valley to the top of the mountain. The railroad is gone now, but the Inn remains as a haven for hikers and a monument to the rich historic heritage of the region. The sweeping panoramic view from West Point Inn includes much of the East Bay, parts of San Francisco, the Marin Headlands, one tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, and out over the Pacific Ocean.

The West Point Inn Association is a group of approximately 400 volunteers who maintain and operate the Inn. Members enjoy the camaraderie of others in a setting that is second to none.

Activities such as work parties (projects to maintain and/or improve the Inn and its facilities), its famous Pancake Breakfasts, History Nights, special event dinners for Christmas and New Years are examples of what members can participate in.

Members can also enjoy the privileges of discounted overnight fees for staying at the Inn and the opportunity to become a trained Host with attendant hosting privileges.

Members of the West Point Inn Association are all linked by a sincere appreciation of the Inn and its people and are willing to donate personal time (and resources) to ensure that the West Point Inn remains for many years to come.

Overnight lodging is available to the public at the Inn. Most overnight guests arrive by way of the two-mile walk up the Stage Road from Pan Toll Ranger Station where overnight parking is available.
